National Oil Palm Platform of Liberia gets Vehicle for its project

The vehicle is to help facilitate the implementation of all activities under the GGP project.

On 22, Jaunary 2021, UNDP Liberia turned over a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep to the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) under the Good Growth Partnership (GGP) Project, for the use of the National Oil Palm Platform of Liberia (NOPPOL).

The major donor under this project is the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The vehicle is to be used solely for the implementation of all activities.

On behalf of UNDP's Senior Management, Energy and Environment Programme Specialist Moses Massah, extended appreciation to the Ministry of Agriculture for the unique partnership and cooperation in the implementation of the GGP.

Mr. Massah outlined the numerous gains being made to include: the establishment of the National Oil Palm Platform; the Northwest Oil Palm Landscape Forum and Capacity Development; a National Strategy and Action Plan for Sustainable Development; Targeted Scenario Analysis and Conservation Agreement Regulations among others.

The Deputy Minister for Planning and Development accepted the key to the vehicle on behalf of Agriculture Minister. Robert Fagans stressed the stability and sustainability of the Platform.

Mr. Fagans expressed appreciation to UNDP and GEF for the support to the project, stressing that the MOA will continue the hard work in ensuring its implementation.
