The Business Startup Center (BSC) Monrovia in partnership with Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), with support from UNDP, will host a one-day pitch event for entrepreneurs who particpated in the Business Skills Training under the Livelihood and Employment Creation Project.

Seventy-four entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 – 40 who were selected through a competitive evaluation process after submitting business plans for a Business Plan Competition will participate in the pitch event.

Five top-notched business executives have agreed to serve as part of a jury panel that will critique the various business plans and select the winners at the end of their presentations.

About 50 successful winners will receive seed funding of up to US$3,000.00 as startup capital to either grow an emerging business, launch a new business, or pursue innovations that allows them to scale up or to improve an existing one.

In preparation for the event on 10 December 2021, the BSC is assisting young people selected from Lofa, Nimba, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount and Montserrado counties in drafting their business plans.

The pitch event is part of activities of the Livelihood and Employment Creation project supported by UNDP to support income-generation opportunities especially for the poor and vulnerable, which include the youth, women, and people with disabilities, among others.
