The donation was in response to a recent request made by the Head of the National Response Team.

In continuation of its response to the fight against the #coronavirus, UNDP turned over safety jackets to the National Coordinator of the National Response Team on COVID-19.

The 300 pieces of safety vests form part of a package of several interventions UNDP has made so far to the government's response to the pandemic.

UNDP Liberia Deputy Resident Representative for Program, Violet Baffour, said the donation was in response to a recent request made by the Head of the National Response Team, Madame Mary Broh.

She said UNDP is committed to working with Liberia to defeat #COVID19, stressing that it was important to fight the invisible virus together.

Ms. Baffour acknowledged funding support from Key donors- #PartnersAtCoreEmbassy of Sweden in Monrovia Irish Aid #CanEmbCI #irlembliberia #NorwayUN #swiss_un European Union in Liberia etc.

“The fight against Covid-19 needs collective efforts, that is why the UNDP will continue to support the government and people of Liberia to ensure that this disease is eradicated,”  Baffour noted..

Receiving the items, Madame Mary T. Broh said she was overwhelmed with UNDP's unprecedented support to the government and people of Liberia, adding that the items will be used for the intended purposes.

Since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in Liberia, UNDP has continued to play a pivotal role in the government’s response to the deadly corona virus from different programmatic pillars.

It can be recalled that UNDP handed over a consignment of preventive and sensitization materials and supplies to the Liberia National Police, the Bureau of Corrections and the National Response team for the various counties.
