About 40 staff of the National Bureau of Concession (NBC) are undergoing a two-week intensive training at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA).

The intensive training launched in Monrovia, is funded by the UN Peacebuilding Fund through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

NBC staff are to be trained in line with their specific functions-Results Based Management, Public Financial Management, Procurement Management, Human Resource Management and Strategic Management.

UNDP Programme Analyst Robert Dorlaie urged the trainees to use the opportunity to improve their skills and work ethics in order to make positive impact to the development of Liberia.

“As Agents of Change, capacity development must reflect in your work ethics so that you make a difference and leave a legacy for future generation,” Dorlaie noted.

The Chairman of the Bureau of Concession Gregory Coleman appreciated the efforts and supportive role of donors and other partners in such exercise.

Coleman wants his staff to apply themselves during and after the training to improve and manage service delivery.

At the same time, the Director General of LIPA, Alexander Yonly stressed that empowerment remains core to his institution, which eventually culminates into building effective and efficient workforce that promotes integrity, accountability and ethical values.

Yonly encouraged beneficiaries to also use the training as a platform to share knowledge and increase networking.
