SENSITISATION WORKSHOPS
FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS MDGS AND THE MEDIA The aim of the workshops was to raise awareness amongst the media, print and radio, of the true meaning of the MDGs and to make them partners in helping Liberia achieve them. This included introducing the MDGs to journalists and making editors aware of the importance of the MDGs in everyday journalism. Particular emphasis was laid on the October 2005 elections and the role that journalists play in the pre-elections preparations, and how the MDGs relate to them. The result of the workshops was the drafting of a Statement of Intent by the journalists, committing them to helping to sensitize communities about the MDGs. This statement was signed by over XX journalists from over 10 counties. Follow-up workshops will be held in 2006. MDG POSTAL STAMP STUDENT
