Background:
A capacity building support project titled “Transfer of Knowledge Through Expatriate Nationals (TOKTEN)”, signed between the Liberian Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), on 27 June 2006 is now operational. Effective day-to-day management of the project requires the presence of a Project Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Director-General of the Civil Service Agency, Chair of the TOKTEN Project Implementation Committee (PIC), the Project Coordinator will carry out the following responsibilities:

•  Draft bulletins and information notes publicizing the project so as to attract needing institutions and agencies as well as the professionals required.

•  Liaise with agencies to gather information on needs including detailed terms of references for the assignments in question.

•  Collect and categorize CVs for the PIC's action.

•  Oversee and ensure the establishment of the data bank on professionals contacted under the project, from which recruitment can be easily done as per the needs of line ministries and agencies.

•  Liaise with beneficiary agencies to ensure that recruited professionals are adequately monitored and that performance reports outlining key achievements and deliverables are prepared and submitted to the PIC.

•  In consultation with the Committee Chair, prepare calendar of meetings of the PIC and ensure that such meetings are held through effective management of communications flow within the Committee.

•  Supervise and ensure that the work of the Administrative Assistant/Secretary is effectively carried out.

•  Provide technical support to other capacity building initiatives of the governance pillar.

•  Perform other duties as may be required by the PIC.

Qualification, Knowledge and Experience:  

Candidates must possess:

Graduate degree preferably in the fields of economics, management, administration and development is required.

  • Excellent command in written and spoken English is a must.
  • Very good skills in the use of IT equipment will be an added advantage.
  • At least seven (7) years of working experience in project coordination and management.

Must be a Liberian
