============================================================================
BACKGROUND

The laboratory at the UN Dispensary has a single Technician that serves over 1,000 beneficiaries. At least 30 patients are seen at the Dispensary daily, most of who are sent to the laboratory for more that two tests usually. To ensure accuracy and precision, the Laboratory Technician spends not less than fifteen minutes on each test to produce a result. Consequently, if a single Technician must contend with this population daily, one would expect patients to stay longer than necessary in the Dispensary. Also, the effectiveness and efficiency of the Technician (and the accuracy of results) would dwindle with time.

As part of its effort to avert these problems as well as strengthen and improve the level of services rendered by the UN Dispensary, the UNDP seeks to employ a Laboratory Field Assistant to undertake the following assignments
