This vacancy is open to applicants of either sex. Preference

BACKGROUND:
The National Information Management Centre (NIMAC) is a technical
assistance and capacity building project developed jointly by
the Liberian Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services
(LISGIS) and UNDP to respond to the data and information needs
of the government and broader development community in Liberia.
The need for accurate statistics and information products and
services is imperative at this stage of Liberia’s development.
In addition to supporting the national development agenda via
the iPRSP and tracking progress made towards the MDGs, significant
information management capacity is needed to promote accountability
and transparency and support national aid coordination efforts.
In concert with its partners, nimac aims to:
• Build information management capacity within the government,
in particular LISGIS;
• Support government with information management services and
products;
• Promote common standards and best practices;
• Support the monitoring and tracking of progress of key development
frameworks within Liberia, the iPRSP and MDGs.
Management Arrangements
As a member of the NIMAC Technical Team, the Data Clerk will
report to the NIMAC Data Coordinator through the Database Architect.
The Data Clerk will also work closely with all staff in the nimac
to ensure that the flow of information is conducive and supportive
with other aspects of NIMAC's work.
The incumbent also performs the following duties:
• Support Field Information Officers and nimac Technical Team
by organizing the collation, organization and entry of incoming
data and reports;
• Assist in the development of databases and database products,
services and projects in support to government line ministries;
• Maintain new and existing nimac and government databases and
information management tools;
• Proactively promote database and information management standards
within nimac and external organizations;
• Provide support for the development of database training materials
for government officials.
• Provide information management technical support to the Liberia
IASC cluster meetings as well as the County Support Teams.
• Perform any other tasks as directed by the Technical Team or
nimac Manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* A Minimum of an Associate Degree.
* Previous formal training or proven experience in information
management and/or database development and management. Preference
will be given to candidates with experience working with and programming
in MS Access.
* Strong communication skills (both spoken and written English)
and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
* The Data Clerk may be required to travel in the field.
* Experience with or an understanding of Geographic Information
Systems (GIS).
* Knowledge of MySQL, PHP software

the Liaison Officer. The Data Entry Clerk will also work closely
with all staff in the office to ensure that the flow of information
is conducive and supportive with other aspects of NIMAC’s work.
The incumbent also performs the following duties:
* Undertake data entry duties for nimac as and when required.
* Manage the nimac visitors’ log book providing a weekly report.
* Explain nimac services to clients and disseminate information
products ensuring always a steady supply of products available
at the reception area.
* Manage and account for the nimac cost recovery sales maps and
CD products.
* Update the contacts database of humanitarian and development
partners in Liberia.
* Receive nimac visitors and determine assistance needs.
* Maintain an orderly and efficient reception area.
* Perform other duties as requested by the nimac Manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
* A Minimum of an Associate Degree.
* Certificate in Basic Computing
* Ability to communicate clearly in English
* Demonstrable data entry and word processing skills
* Excellent Customer-service orientation.
* Previous experience working with international organizations.
