Duty Station : Monrovia, Liberia (with regular travel up country) Duration : Six (6) months initially with possibility of renewal Type of Contract : Service Contract (SC-6) JOB SUMMARY Key Tasks • Plan and manage the receipt of goods from international and local suppliers; • Manage short and long-term storage facilities for incoming consignments based on shipment pre-advice and documentation forwarded by the Procurement Unit of UNDP; • Record the receipt of all deliveries, verifying completeness through document matching; • Ensure generation of receiving reports by appropriate staff for all consignments; • Manage the timely delivery of all vendor invoices and applicable documents to Procurement Unit for vendor payment processing; • Coordinate transportation with the Transport Officer for deliveries to receiving units; • Supervise the warehouse stock control, making regular inspections and providing monthly reports on current stock status; • Engage and supervise casual labour as required for the loading/unloading and storing of UNDP shipments; • Ensure all assets are recorded, tagged and logged, monitor all asset movements; • Coordinate and plan the activities of Asset Trackers; • Manage the distribution of all communication equipment to UNDP staff; and • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. * A minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field; * 5 to 6 years of progressive experience in Procurement and logistics; Previous experience in working with a UN Organization or an International NGO is plus; * Must be physically fit to perform field mission in rough terrains; * Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc); * Excellent written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal and supervisory skills and team player; * High sense of confidentiality and good judgement; * Ability to take initiatives for pre-emptive measures and most efficient and effective approach to achieve results; and * Highly motivated, flexible and capable of working under pressure.
