DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE: PUBLIC SECTOR REFORMSupport has been earmarked for the Government Reform Commission (GRC) to enable them to pursue the national reform agenda as mandated by the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed in Accra, Ghana in August 2003. Under the Governance Programme, UNDP has committed US$ 500,000 as initial support for the establishment and operation of the Commission. The Commission, established to promote transparency and accountability of government and to fight corruption, have begun national consultations and public forums with various stakeholders throughout the various sectors of society on reform issues. The following activities are currently
underway:
'In support of a national anti-corruption drive, UNDP, in collaberation with other international partners, completed a scoping study assessing the curent situation and trends regarding corruption within governement ministries and agencies.'
