The UNDP Good Growth Partnership (GGP) on March 28th 2019 donated a Dell laptop computer and projector to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).

These items are part of the support UNDP through the GGP is providing specifically to strengthen the national Oil Palm platform.

As a mechanism, this national led multi-stakeholder platform is hosted by the MoA to promote dialogue between public and private sector stakeholders to define and promote sustainable oil palm production.

The platform serves as an essential tool for increasing transparency, building consensus, enabling co-ordinated planning and regulatory oversight and encouraging sustainable forms of investment in oil palm production.

Speaking on behalf of the UNDP at a brief handover ceremony at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Gardnersville office, Team Leader for Sustainable Economic Transformation (SET) pillar- Dorsla Farcathy said the donation was an indication of UNDP’s support to the Ministry’s National Oil Palm platform, stressing, that it needed to serve the intended purpose of assisting the Ministry and its National Oil Palm platform.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Robert Fagans, Deputy Minister for Planning and Development, expressed thanks and appreciation for the gesture; noting that “the UNDP has always been supportive of the Liberian people.”

Mr. Fagans assured the UNDP that the donation would be used for the intended purpose and will remain as an asset to the Ministry.
