MIA to Inspect Peace building Fund ProjectsJun 10, 2015
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is conducting inspection of Peace building Fund Supported Projects in two counties in the southeast and Bong County in the central region. The two southeastern counties are Grand Gedeh and Maryland Counties.
Institutional members of the Joint Monitoring Team include the Justice and Security Joint Program, National Youth Service Programme, Local and Traditional Mechanism for Peace and the Land Alternative Dispute Resolution Programme.
Other members of the Joint Monitoring Team, headed by the Peace building Office at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, are UNMIL, UNICEF, UNDP and UN-Habitat.
The team is to review and understand the actual situation on the ground regarding the implementation of Peace building Fund Supported Projects in the three counties.
The overall objective of the team is to assess progress and challenges faced in the implementation of the projects.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs said the Joint Monitoring Team will also focus on what follow-up actions are required where interventions will be needed.Contact
